Public Foundation

The primary purpose of a public foundation is usually to raise money to make gifts to organizations that are 'qualified donees'. A registered charity is designated as a public foundation if fewer than 50% of the charity's directors are related, and more than 50% of its funding originates come from unrelated donors.
